E.M. Morrissey was raised in a swamp outside Boston, MA, but currently lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, cat, and a small jungle of houseplants. She received a Ph.D. in Japanese Art History from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018, and has since left academia for other ventures, including writing sci-fi and fantasy. She is a graduate of the 2024 Viable Paradise Workshop.
